October 2003
As the whirl of summer winds down and the days are getting shorter, cooler, quieter, we may feel less motivation to get outside and get active. This is when it really counts! Go For It!The time is now!
We all have a little seed inside, a seed of inspiration. Perhaps we were born with it or maybe it showed up later in life. It's that thing that lights a fire in your belly when you think about the possibility of it. When you imagine that it might happen in your life, you can't help but smile and feel a flutter of excitement.
What are you waiting for?
Though everything is about choices and timing, if not now, when? (However, it is possible that dreaming ...

Claim Your Gifts A Key to Finding Meaning
I've noticed a fascinating, wide-spread phenomenon...we disregard our gifts and innate talents as "normal," mistakenly assuming that everyone can do what we naturally can do. As a result of considering our gifts normal, we shrug them off, thinking them no big deal, and carry on with our ever-determined search to create meaningful work. We have no idea that our holy grail is laying right within us.
Many years ago I worked as a staff recruiter, hirin...

Growing Beyond Fear: Your role in becoming free
Have you ever had the experience of grappling with a challenge in life or a relationship and it feels like a battle between 2 or more sides or perspectives? And you just want it to be made right-- to get what you want and /or have resolution!
In a recent article I read by Rabbi Rami Shapiro there were a couple lines that really struck me. "...the true battle isn't between you and others, but between your self and your soul, between fear and l...

Here are a few more tips for moving out of overwhelm and INTO enjoying your life more fully...
Simple Shifts You do not have to change everything in your life to find peace. Are there one or two obligations that you can trim back on? Are you willing to get up 10 minutes early and sit looking out the window or listen to music with your eyes closed? Are you willing to ask others for additional help or get your family more involved in household projects or cooking...

Falling Out of Overwhelm: Part One
There are innumerable times in our lives when things feel, well, too much. Too much to do, too much to think about, organize, coordinate, etc. and suddenly we find, we've fallen into overwhelm.
Here are a few simple steps to allow yourself to fall back out of overwhelm again...
Stop the Madness Before you can do anything, you must grab hold of the wheel and put the brakes on. It may feel like everything is in “have to” mode, but it is up to you to pause you...

Setting up Support to Thrive: The Importance of Ease
After coaching for 10 years, I’ve found that while clients are in transition to living the life they love, support is essential. Support takes a variety of shapes, whether specific types of people, teams, systems, environments, or activities—all help clients to thrive. We were not meant to do it all by ourselves! And for me, it’s got to be easy—so easy that I don’t have to think about it; that it feels somewhat effortless and...

When you dream big dreams, and KNOW that you have gifts that you wish to bring to light in your life, it is easy to slip into overwhelm.
It's not about a one-day transformation, rather a gradual unfolding. Think of a fern that grows in the forest...it doesn't go from seed to full-grown fern in a day--it is a slow development and opening.
It's easy to get overwhelmed when we're facing our big dreams. All I can do in those moments is keep my eye on the end game and set my 30 minute timer for ... Continue reading ...
